Won easily; second and third driving. SMACKOVER, away well, set the early pace, then followed close up and raced into the lead again in the stretch, and won going away. COZY ran a gi od race from the start, and while eoming wide while entering the stretch, finished fast. TAKAWEESA saved ground on the turn and took the lead at the eighth post, but tired near the end. FORK GOLD raced well. THOS. LYNN was shuffled back after the start. LOG FIRE and PHII.O were humped and forced to be taken up. Won easily; second and third driving. JOHN S. MOSBY, close up from the start, raced into the lead when called on and, drawing away in the stretch, won under light restraint. EYELASH began slowly, hut improved his position on the inside and outstayed PILL SHAFFER in the final drive. The latter set the early pace, hut was tiring at the finish. COME ALONG ran well throughout. DR. HUFF met with early interference. MARGARET ST. L. was knocked hack after going a sixteenth. BART showed early speed. VALENTINE followed the early pacemaker closely under restraint, came on outside of MONDAY MORNING when entering the stretch, and outgamed him in the final drive. The latter took the lead at once and. setting a good pace, saved ground where possible, but tired in the final seventy yards. SHOWY raced well throughout. MACLEAN was speedy, hut tired in th final ighth. ELEMENTAL ran well. MYRTLE BELLE ran an extremely bad race and quit early in the race. PANIC showed the most early speed, and raced HIDALGO into defeat, hut swerved and tired in the final drive. TEAPOT slipped through on the inside when PANIC forced HIDALGO out, then tired.
