Won handily: second and third driving. GEORGE STARR passed MURPHY after rounding the far turn and held the race through the stretch. BLACK ART made a challenge in the stretch and finished gamely, but was held safe by the winner. LITTLE PAL began slowly, but closed a gap and finished fast. PRINCE DIRECT closed a big gap. ONEIDA was unprepared when the start came. MURPHY quit after setting the early pace. Scratched— 88011 O. C. The latter set a good pace and, after having raced LENT into defeat, made a resolute finish. LUCKY DOLLAR finished close up after being forcd wide in the stretch. LENT showed speed, hut tired. Won driving; second and third the same. THE ALMONER raced into a clear lead in the stretch and, under a powerfully ridden finish, nutgamrd HOOVER. The latter closed up fast in the stretch and headed the winner fifty yards ont, but was tiring at the end. MISS FORTUNE finished resolutely and outstayed ANTIUU1TY. The latter was a forward contender throughout, but tired in the stretch. ROYAL CHARLIE displayed early speed. LOTTIE LORAINE began poorly. Scratched— 8S542 Parthema. The latter closed up with a rush, round ing the turn for home and showed in front midway of the stretch, but tired slightly in the final drive.
