well nigh doubled until on the eve of the great race it seemed impossible that there would be room for more It did not seem that a Derby holiday maker could be left in the broad land but as usual there was another charge of others Saturday morning and they were the devotees who had to make it a oneday holiday holidayThen Then there was the vast army of those who motored in for the day to motor out at night likewise the various specials for which the railroad yards were all inadequate to furnish parking spaces spacesAnd And what a night was the Derby night One would imagine that the fiftythird run ¬ ning of the Kentucky Derby was eminently satisfactory to all Louisville went abso ¬ lutely wild with its celebrations of the great event and the cheers that welcomed the win ¬ ner as he valiantly fought his way home through the difficult going seemed to be reechoed along all through the night and to be continued until the Sunday sun rose on a satisfied company companyMayor Mayor Wm Thompson of Chicago and his party were early arrivals and made an ex ¬ tended visit with Col Matt J Winn WinnThe The Edgewater Beach Hotel again was one of the main leaders in the matter of repre ¬ sentation at the Derby The Cuban DeLuxe special train was again impressed by this delegation numbering an even 100 socially prominent people of the north side of Chi ¬ cago The party was in charge of Wm Dewey director generally of the Edgewater Beach and included in the list guests John T Connery member of the Lincoln Field directorate Gen Milton Foreman and Joseph Connery The famous Oriole band
