DANIEL M BURNS DEAD NEW YORK N Y June 7 A report of the death of Colonel Daniel M Burns of San Francisco was received yesterday at Belmont Park Colonel Burns was one of the pillars of racing on the Pacific coast and was a member of the firm of Burns Waterhouse which raced one of the most extensive stables on the American turf for many years The Burns Handicap one of the greatest annual fixtures at the Emeryville Calif track was named in his honor
