CJT IN CHIN began well and, showing n-.uch speed, raced into the lead, but lost ground by racing wide into the stretch and had to be hard ridden to outfinish GO FOIN. The latter began well and. setting a fast early pace, saved much ground on the turns and barely failed to win. GEIEGO ran a good race and was always prominent. JOHN WILLIAM II. had no mishaps. CLIMAX was almost left at the barrier and was not persevered with. COAL BLACK began from an outer position and bad to race wide, but raced into second place in the first quarter and, responding gamely when ridden hard in the stretch, outfinisl.ed LENA M. The latter raced prominently from the start and appeared the winner when a sixteenth out. but tired. FRENCH LANE began with a rush and raced into a good lead in the first quarter, but swerved badly in the stretch, then was racing gamely again at the end. CONQUISTADOR showed a fine order of speed in leading for a half mile, but began tiring in the stretch and was ontfinished. FLAHERTY was poorly ridden and only got into full racing stride when in the stretch. PATTY VICTORIA had no mishaps. FRIGHTFUL ran a good race and finished gamely. OSEDA began tiring after showing the most speed for three-quarters. CAPTAIN ADAMS, far back for a half mile and racing wide, came fast in the stretch and finished with a rush. FREYA raced into second place on the stretch turn, but tired near tli- end. DUNBEATH showed speed, but began tiring when he reached tin last eighth. JUNIORS NURSE was buffeted all over the track and had no opportunity to race to her best form, but finished gamely. ARRAGOSA tired after going three-quarters. JURAL EARLY had a rough race.
