AURORA FAVORITES SCORE The Orleanian Defeats Sir John K j by a Nose Ladies Day Swells Attendance to Unlocked Unlockedfor for Proportions Irfaneli Winner of Fourth Itncc AURORA 111 May 1C Although the card at Exposition Park this afternoon lacked an outstanding feature Ladies Day swelled the attendance to unlocked for proportions The racing was good and favorite players had a good day when several short priced choices were successful The weather was consider ¬ ably improved over that of yesterday andthe contests were decided over a fast track trackOne One of the best races of the afternoon was the fifth in which eight horses several of which had won previously at the meeting started The Orleanian winner of his last start took the decision by a nose from Sir John K while Tangram was third The fin ¬ ish was the closest of the afternoon and one of the best of the meeting meetingEight Eight horses entered the Bahr gate and Tangram was the favorite When the start was effected Houseboy went to the front while Sir John 1C was away well Tangram began slowly as usual while The Orleanian was last to get away The latter improved his position in the back stretch and on the far turn was in a contending position while Tangram was last Houseboy tired when the home stretch was reached and Sir John K going to the front secured a good advantage It seemed as if Sir John K would stick it out but The Orleanian came fast under hard riding and wearing the leader dpwn got up in time Tangram closed a big gap in the final drive driveBehave Behave Cash making his first start of the meeting was much the best of the field which met in the opener and scored by six lengths Jockey Ayraud was in the saddle and he had the gelding off quickly Behave Cash took a good lead early and drew out with ridiculous ease in the stretch Willing finished second and Alfred Trude was third The latter de ¬ layed the start for many minutes but raced well The winner was a favorite favoriteKing King of the Spa sprang the greatest sur ¬ prise of the meeting when he galloped home an easy winner in the second race and paid 72GG The winner was best and after begin ¬ ning in last place improved his position steadily under the able guidance of jockey Boucher to catch Johnny Agee near the finish and win going away Johnny Agee which yas well up from the start was an easy second and Perriehon the early pace ¬ maker finished third thirdThe The public made no mistake when they cen ¬ tered on Miss Joan as their favorite in the third race The Irwin filly scored by several lengths from an ordinary band of twoyear olds and was under restraint at the finish Bess Cloi starting for the first time set the pace but when she and News Item another newcomer went wide on the stretch turn Miss Joan stayed close to the rail and had things her own way to the finish Red Tarn got up in time to take second place and Bess Cloi was third Jockey Moran rode Miss Joan Another favorite scored when Irfaneh got down in front The daughter of Pandion was a prohibitive choice and was easily best Megazza set the pace with the winner close up and when jockey Carroll sent the latter after the leaders she overtook Megazza with case and drew away into a good lead Her winning margin was two lengths Megazza finished in second place and Michael Mona han was third
