JACK GRAIN EASY WINNER Leads by Ten Lengths in Bain bridge Purse at Fairmount Jockey Cimcrak Slightly Injured When Ills 3Iount Rears and Falls on Him CIS field Is Victorious in Third COLLINSVILLE 111 June 11 Jack Grain a fouryearold racing for Mrs A B Stelle made another runaway race at Fairmount Park this afternoon and won the Bainbridge Purse by ten lengths in muddy going This was Jack Grains third victory here and he finished second in his other three races He won his previous start by eight lengths on a fast track trackMorocco Morocco another consistent performer dur ing this meeting was second in the Bain bridge and Braggadocio third thirdRoyal Royal Yeoman and Braggadocio were ex ¬ pected to furnish the contention for the win ¬ ner but a weak ride by apprentice C Cal lahan proved one of the factors in the down ¬ fall of the Audley Farm representative The youngster could not hold his mount together in the muddy going and Royal Yeoman floun ¬ dered continually Morocco which had shown good form in his previous engagements was installed the favorite but did not show signs of menacing the winner at any stage of the running runningLady Lady ONeil a daughter of Malamont rac ¬ ing under the colors of A Stroud was re ¬ turned the winner of the opener which brought together a band of the lower grade platers at threequarters Golden Orient was second and Mosque third The winner showed a decided liking for the muddy going and followed the pacemakers under slight re ¬ straint to the stretch where jockey Wilhoit put her under pressure and she responded gamely and wore down The Badger which was faltering As they straightened out for the run home she drew into the lead and was joined by Golden Orient which had worked his way up on the inside The latter made a bid but was no match for the winner barely beating out Mosque MosqueEphesian Ephesian came in for heavy support but failed to race to expectations as did Yalo vian and Matthew MatthewMurdock Murdock McQuillen local patrons won the major share of the purse in the one mile and seventy yards second race when their Cisfield proved best of the eight that started Scotland Girl was second and Bee Jay third thirdApprentice Apprentice G Cimerak narrowly escaped serious injury when Peggy on which he had the mount became unmanageable while pa ¬ rading to the post and reared falling back to the ground on the boy After an exam ¬ ination it was found that he suffered a badly wrenched back which will keep him idle for about a week weekThe The winner showed a liking for the going He was outrun during the early stages but gained gradually and after going a half mile apprentice W Day sent him after Scot ¬ land Girl which had assumed a good lead When they reached the stretch he drew on even terms and in a brief duel disposed of her to win going away by a length and a half Scotland Girl finished six lengths in advance of Bee Jay which easily dovned the favorite Post Horn for third honon hononThe The third race witnessed the smallest field Continued on twentyfirst page
