CHARM, away fast and under energetic riding in the first quarter, was taken under light restraint on the turn, withstood hard urging gamely and wore down FINGER TIPS in the final strides. The latter began slowly, but raced into the lead with a rush, was taken to the inside after drawing clear and held on well, but was not good enough. PRINCESS ELSIE improved her position rapidly on the turn and finished in close quarters. SUNNY PORT closed resolutely. WISE SUSAN tired. DELMA DUNN was in close quarters repeatedly. WISE MAID quit. BOURBON MAID was outrun and pulled up lame.
