MAE SWEEP, close to the leader all the way, responded gamely under strong urging and was up to win in the final strides. LOVE OFFERING assumed a slight lead under pressure on the turn, saved ground and held on resolutely. DIANA D. came through oil the outside, bore out near the eighth post and easily disposed of MISS AVONDALE. The latter, away forwardly, tired in the stretch. The latter acted badly at the post, began outside the machine and, responding to pressure, was slowly wearing down the winner. STRAIT JACKET, away well, had no mishaps. ROME VENNE raced evenly. MARTIS was cut off on the turn, but came through on the inside entering the stretch and finished gamely. CHATFORD tired in the stretch. TARZAN and LE CONDOR were not persevered with.
