WEATHER HASTENS SHIPMENT Cold Snap at Latonia Results in Horsemen Leaving Before Their Scheduled Time. LATONIA, Ky., Nov. 12. It is true that horsemen love their old Kentucky, but the freezing weather of the past two days caused scores of them to move up the time of departure for New Orleans to the earliest possible moment, and they will be getting out on all trains for the next forty-eight hours. Over the week-end a dozen, cars will leave the Latonia chute for Jefferson Park or the Fair Grounds, and insofar as New Orleans shipments are concerned, only a scattered few will be left here after Monday. Several are moving over to Lexington, from where they will ship to New Orleans. These include Mrs. Payne Whitneys Green-tree Stable, also the big string handled by H. Cavanaugh, and the division of the Shan-don Farm and the Nash stable, raced here by J. J. Geely. William Hurley goes back to Idle Hour Farm with stock and traps before heading out for New Orleans, and the Albert Sabath string will be freshened up a bit at Louisville before going on to the Fair Grounds. Some of the larger stables scheduled to get away the next two days for New Orleans include those of Edward Haughton, C. H. Knebelkamp, C. V. Whitney-M. Gold-blatt, D. R. Riddle, George Collins, Octave Viau, J. J. Troxler, A. Luzader, B. B. Rice, S. H. Fairbanks, F. P. Letellier, A. B. Letellier, A. Pelleteri, J. G. Goode and others. Pelleteri is shipping eight yearlings from Lexington. The useful stable owned by Devereaux Brothers, Keeneland Stud and J. G. Chinn may be late additions to those going from here to the Crescent City. Devereaux Brothers have such as Uncle Matt, Axtel, Nanny D. , Graceful Lad, Kievette, Captain Karo and a number of yearlings, while the Chinn-Plunkett establishment has its older strength in I Pass, Noelwood, Red Boots, Wilks and Fair Barbara. J. O. Keene may select several older horses and eight or ten yearlings for racing at the Fair Grounds. The Knebelkamp shipment to New Orleans will include Hoops, Palatine, Rose Bowl, Ben Bernie, Falsehood, Newgro, Aileen C. and others. Later this stable may be augmented by Spanish Play, Spanish Way, Dick Morris and others, now running out, but likely to be prepared for the 1933 campaign at the Fair Grounds. In the Haughton winter stable will be such useful ones as Bill Looney, Judge Lued-ers, Easy, Prince Megan, Elegy, Dawn Mist, Tarwater, Oziti, Peal and others. Older horses scheduled to carry the C. V. Whitney colors this winter include Smear, Skirl, Mag-nifico, Chimney Sweep, Chene, Habanero, Malaita, Blow Fly, Cynara, Gyro, Cresta Run, Simon, Bali and one or two others.
