LEXINGTON TURF NOTES Sharp showers Monday afternoon and night and Tuesday morning visited sections of Fayette and adjoining counties and broke a drought which had assumed serious pro ¬ portions Pastures had been almost dried up pn many farms but no acute shortage of water had been reported as was the case in the drought of 1930 1930The The rains will relieve temporarily fhe con ¬ dition of the soil but a much heavier pre ¬ cipitation is needed to bring about a resto ¬ ration of the pastures pasturesFirst First Minstrel and Spy Hill the top three yearolds in Mrs Payne Whitneys stable arrived at the Greentree Farm here Tues ¬ day morning both broken down They were accompanied by two other threeyearolds Dabchick and Eblis Victorian which suffered severe injuries to a hind leg when he kicked through a paddock fence recently at Silas B Masons Bunreath Farm is making fair progress Dr Edward W Hagyard reports There is ope that the stallion may be saved
