REPEAL LAW ON TABLE AUSTIN, Texas, April 24 By a vote of 75 to 36, the Texas House of Representatives yesterday gave the mutuel lav a new lease on life by making it subject to call. Advocates of repeal took advantage of the absence of some of the legislatures friends of racing in order to bring the bill back from the "grave." Under the original order of bills, it probably would not have come up for a vote before the close of the assembly. Representative Graves, who moved to place the bill on the table, subject to call, contended that he had petitions signed by about 50,000 persons in favor of repeal. Even if the bill is taken off the table and carried by the House, it still must go through fhe Senate, and a chance of final passage is regarded as slight.
