PATROL JUDGES STANDS STANDSNEW NEW YORK N Y May 15 Superintend ¬ ent Neil Boyle said this morning that three of the five new conning tower type patrol judges stands at Belmont Park are up and will be in use this afternoon The three al ¬ ready set into their cement bases are lo ¬ cated at the fiveeighthsmile pole the in ¬ tersection of the Widener chute and the main track and at the mile and a furlong pole in the chute This latter is also used as a starters stand for the races of that distance Two more of these new stands will be put up tomorrow These conning towers are on the inside rail of the race track and afford an excellent line of vision for the judges They were originally de ¬ signed by Ed Soule of Hollywood Park and first installed at that track The Belmont Park towers are of similar design to those used in the West
