SHASTA MAN TURNS BACK CRETE JUVENILE RIVALS FAYETTE PURSE PROVES EASY FOR QUAKERTOWN Largest WeekDay Crowd of Present Meeting on Hand at Lincoln Fields FieldsCaliforniaBred CaliforniaBred Youngster was on hand for the start of the fifth and final week of the thirtyday season of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club at this American Turf Association course today While the weather was very pleasant the heavy condition of the track after the recent rains resulted in so many scratches that the fifth race which was to have been the feature was called off This left the card made up mostly of claiming events including a two yearold race which brought together a band of juveniles with a price tag of 2500 This event which was run as the third race on the card went to J L Pattersons Shasta Man a Californiabred The Patterson juvenile lead going into the far turn and won with ease as he finished out the five furlongs in liOS1 two and a ahalf half lengths in advance of Thomas Piatts Overluck The Golden State juvenile paid 1260 for 2 and combined with Three Per ¬ cent winner of the second race returned 11 20 in the Daily Double DoubleOverluck Overluck a firsttime starter was under punishment around the turn and through the stretch in annexing the place in advance of W C Hobsons Gold Coin Miss That daughter of Alcazar was running fastest of all through the stretch to lead Hyman Friedbergs Bolute a head at the wire after coming from far back The Bolo filly was an early contender but was tiring in front of the stand K Rounder who went to the post with the bulk of the public support that of Onig for interfering with the field in the stretch was timed in 133 and paid a 1020 mutuel Moving from far back Frank J Demarys Wacky Jack finished second a length in advance of Mrs M Childress Bargain Hunter who was second all the way ujitil the Wise Counsellor gelding made his bid C Lening tons Morning Mail was fourth a length further back backPennsburg Pennsburg gave Mrs Emil Denemark and jockey Willie Garner their second victory of the afternoon when he drove to victory in the sixth race Moving around horses on the turn and taking the rail route through the stretch the Cameronian gelding outgamed the favored Gay Hour to accomplish his first score of the year Receiving only light sup ¬ port Pennsburg paid 1320 after being timed in 156 for his effort over the mile and
