Board Abides by Horsemens Preference for Claiming Rule RuleThe The claiming rule as it applies in Illinois will not be altered for the present at least it was announced by the Illinois Racing Board following its meeting yesterday In declining to meddle with this controversial rule the board is abiding by the wishes of horsemen who Monday voted 120 to 90 for no change changeThe The board also considered other routine matters and in the course of its business formally issued a license to the Arlington Park Jockey Club to conduct its meeting at Washington Park and approved officials of that association With several additions and shifts of position the staff of officials for the Arlington meeting is the same as last year yearAn An attorney representing jockey Kenneth McCombs whose license application was withheld appeared before the board today to ask for a hearing in behalf of his client but the commissioners took no action on the appeal
