Gonzalez Astride Double at Detroit DetroitSuccess Success on Furenuf and Aurora Road Come in First Two Offerings on Program ProgramDETROIT DETROIT Mich June 5 Roberto Gon ¬ zalez starred in the early part of todays activities at the Fair Grounds piloting both ends of the Daily Double in D OSullivans Furenuf in the opener and J E Brackens Aurora Road in the second race The Double returned 10480 for 2 2This This was the fourth try at the meeting for Furenuf And in consideration of a rather satisfactory outing recently in which she finished third behind Hi Murt and Three Roses the mare was installed fa ¬ vorite and rewarded backers in the gather ¬ ing of 10000 at 520 She came from near the pace to take command from the falter ¬ ing Epi Gal rounding the far elbow and then drew away from Galorita to display two lengths advantage while rounding oub the six furlongs in 114 over a fast track Royal Kham was third thirdComes Comes From Far Back BackFor For his success Aurora Road came from far back Slow to get moving the three yearold picked up speed after about three furlongs and reached the leaders from the inside turning for home At the furlong marker he was within striking distance of Baytree Bomber who incidentally bumped Gezira at that point and eliminated him ¬ self The happening permitted the Bracken gelding to come along and achieve a length and onehalf triumph triumphRougheree Rougheree who got to running too late superseded the faltering Baytree Bomber and garnered the minor award from the latter by a half length
