PENDRAGON bettered his position gradually while saving ground and would have been second in a few more strides. NEDLON raught weary horses. GRAND PLAYER raced very wide and closed some ground in the final quarter. TIME FLIES quit badly after racing prominently placed to the e stretch. MACHINA was through early. PRESSlRE was hard held while , off the pace for about five furlongs, ws lortunate to be on the inside when the leaders went wide, and ,d then resisted SARAWAK. The latter, much the best, was allowed to trail the field to the three-eighths pole, moved around on the outside to challenge for the lead, then was carried far beyond the center of the track k by LAND CRUISER. He recovered again to challenge but had too much taken out of him. LAND D CRUISER displaced HYGROS- GINGER midway of the final turn, then went very wide, losing all ii chance and badly impedine SARAWAK. MARCH CHICK was steadied while well placed early then flattened 1 out under pressure. HYGROS GINGER flashed speed for about six furlongs. Scratched— 76665 2 Refresh, 112; 767762 Brides Biscuit, 104. FLYING NED. taken back repeatedly when between horses along the backstretch. came willingly at the end. CALCUTTA flashed early spede. STING PAL was eased up when beaten.
