► French Derby Not Run Due To Strike of Stable Boys By Special Correspondent PARIS, France, June 11. — A strike of the stable boys, now a week old caused an abandonment of a week of racing at Longchamps and Autueil and as a result the Prix du Jockey Club French Derby set for decision today, was not run as also was the fate of the sister race, the Prix de Diane the previous Sunday, June 3. Autueil Steeplechase meeting, the Saturday attraction, had also to be called off. According to information received from the Chantilly trainer, Henry Count, the stable boys receiving at, present the franc equivalent of .10 per day, are requesting it be increased to .90 per day. Discussions over the dispute between the trainers and representatives of the stable boys under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Agriculture, continue.
