CIRIO was in hand while being outrun, raced wide, responded when called upon and wore down CHARLENE near the end. The latter made the pace under rating, saved ground and held on well, but could not last. DETROIT BULL lacked speed, but rallied after three quarters and closed gamely. BLOSSOM QUEEN had speed, was roused in the stretch and gave way in the last eighth. LIGHT TACK was prominent for three quarters and was lugging out while tiring thereafter. DRAWBY pulled up lame.
