Nebraska Notes AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 25. Apprentice Jerrell Vinson returned to Ak-Sar-Ben after a short visit to Ascot Park. G. W. Smith purchased Wongerra, a a nine-yeear-old gelding by Pharanor and Drat from L. E. Shisler at private terms. The new owner turned him over to trainer A. W. Smith. Virginia Winfree traded the stallion Shanty Man who suffered a low bow in his last race for the four-year-old gelding War Flame owned by Earl R. Cowey. Cowey plans on mating Shanty Man, who is well bred, being by Shanty town out of War Chaff, to a Cavalcade mare, Floracade. Mrs. D. T. Crabtree reports the death of Denver Red Sunday. The nine-year-old gelding died of lock-jaw. Ike Bassett, mid -western representative of the Jockeys Guild, arrived here Saturday from Fairmount Park. Bassett will take up several matters with the management in regards to the Guild. Owner and trainer J. N. Herndon checked out Saturday for Centennial Park with four horses, Prince Briar, Miss Fenelon. Short Red and Ida Win.
