Doumani, With Eversole Up# Appears Likely Favorite Tonight By PAT CAUDILL Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 25. — The semifinal week of racing at this meeting gets under way tomorrow night with the presentation of an eight-race program headed by the La Due Village Purse. Designed for three-year-olds, this six- 1 furlong allowance affair has drawn seven entries and included in the group are some of the fastest sophomores currently quar- I tered here. This feature event offers a purse of ,200. Capt. Doumani, the good looking son of Sweep Like, owned by C. E. Buckley and K. S. Cleveland, scored so easily in his last outing that he must be given the nod over his opponents. He gets in with 109 pounds which is four less than he carried in his last outing. He is to be handled by apprentice James Eversole. W. A. Mikels Chinese Yen won three consecutive races here in as many starts j and appears a strong threat here. Also appearing very dangerous is Mrs. F. Moores Colorado Miss, who has been meeting top performer in efforts here and should benefit from the slight drop in class she Is takinsr. I Mrs. E. G. Farrands Imperial Mandy scored a driving victory in her only outing here since arriving from Chicago and from that effort will earn a goodly share of support. G. U. Renfroes Nancie Pate and J. J. Starrs Ballette may have shown good enough efforts here to merit strong consideration and add to making it a very evenly matched affair. Completing the field is C. B. Goochs Betty Jane. The Tri-Cities Purse as the fifth race rates about on equal terms with the La Due Village for top billing on the program as this six-furlongs allowance race for three-year-olds and upward offers a purse of ,200 and among the entries are several who have visited the winners circle at this meeting. Ruths Vacation, owned by T. McCarty, will be striving for her third victory of this meeting, while Bo-Co has won on three occasions at this meeting. Bo-Co, owned by E. J. "Dutch" Harrison, nationally famed golfer, has stepped up in class on each outing and has won in a manner to merit him a strong threat tomorrow night. Campbell and Egans Reade Castle is among the entries and this steady performer will be trying for his third victory of this meeting and the eighth of this year. Gallant Tuck and Little Jeff have each been victorious at this meeting and the field is completed by Wild Teddy and Ca-molino. A good band of middle distance runner* of the ,500 caliber will decide the seventh race at one mile and one-sixteenth and the nightcap will see a band of ,000 platen go the same distance.
