Urchin was held at the poet and got the worst of it, was rushed up on the 1 winners heels on the backstretch and compelled to pull up and poorly ridden generally. Resin, slow at the start, finished very fast nd was jumping on the leaders heels at the end, but hopelessly pocketed and is steadily improving. Torila, a nonstayer, retired early. Pat MorriBsey failed to stay. Hesper essayed to outrun the winner and tired and quit badly. , Aloha II. closed a big gap. Byronerdale i probably outclassed the field and a distinct advantage at the start enabled him to take a lead which he never relinquished, responding gamely when called upon in the last quarter. Warte Nicht was well I handled, showed unexpected improvement and finished through the last quarter with a rush. The 1 Major, hard held, waited on the winners pace for six furlongs, but failed to come on when called on and evidently was not keyed up for a long race, but is a good colt. Esherin, away running, was a contender to the stretch, where Reed, sitting still, allowed her to swerve in behind the leaders. Overweights Warte Nicht, 1 pound; Gillie, S. Byronerdale, show, 1 to 2.
