Ailyar began slowly but wore his field down while rounding the far turn, caught Maltster in the stretch run and outgamed him when it came to the final drive. The latter had no mishaps, outbroke his field at the start and was in the good going all the way. Antonius ran well and was-under a hard drive all of the last quarter. The Pride of Surrey was dry in coat when going to the post.kept sprawling all the way and never seemed able to extend himself in the going. Tom Collins ran well to the stretch. Alpaca was at home in the going, showed the most speed throughout and made a runaway race of it. Flamboyant began slowly but saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and finished stoutly in the deep going and outgamed Russellton when it came to a drive. The latter was under restraint for the first half, but his rider was of no help to him when the pinch came. Lord Neville and Little Jack Horner quit badly in the stretch run. Double O. showed speed. Charles D. began slowly and ONeil waited with him until on the turn into the backstretch, where he went to the outside, found an opening at the half mile post and worked his way to the leaders, fought it out with Inspector Shea all of the last furlong and outgamed him in the final drive. The latter showed early speed but dropped back while rounding the far turn and then came again at the end and finished in the middle of the track in the deep going. Locust Blossom showed speed but tired when called on. Willard J. was ridden all over the track. Lissome quit after going a half. Ruby Ray ran a bad race.
