Rinaldo II. got away in front and scored a lucky third under a skillful and vigorous ride. Bernota closed a gap from a poor start but had scant chance with a bad jockey and was probably second best. Azarine, away badly, worked a rough journey improving her position from the start and finished fast. Rud Hynicka got away badly. Scratched 37121 Dora I., 101; 37496 Hilary. 113. Kenilworth trailed the terrific pace for six furlongs and wore Peter J.down after a long stretch drive. The latter is evidently a high class colt, waited hard held on the pacemaker for five furlongs, flashed into the lead on the stretch turn and appeared like winning easily, but was caught tiring by the winner in the final sixteenth. Durazzo, away poorly and badly handled, would have been closer up at the finish but for being knocked to the rail when a furlong out. Krishna tired after forcing a fast pace under a choking pull for three-quarters. He quit in the stretch and was evidently short. Kenilworth, show, out. Peter J., show, 3 to 5. Durazzo, show, 2 to 5.
