M. J. Shannon, who is now handling the Dennett horses, succeeded in getting Kings Trophy to the post yesterday for the first time in over two years, and after tlie son of Kings Counsel pulled up sore, horsemen were indifferent as to his chances in todays race. Anna Smith and Imhoilcn were the only winning favorites, but this did not mean that the ring made any great gains, for some of tlie other winners were heavily backed. In the fifth race William Walker and his party backed Nellie Ra-cine from S to " to 1. She won in a canter. Os-niunda, a gift mare from Edward Whalen to J. F. McCarthy, duplicated her victory of Tuesday in the fourth race. The speedy Etta Louise was second. .
