NOTES OF THE TURF. Burlew and ONeill have nominated Chapultepec and Angclus for the Latonia Derby. John It. Walker has resigned as trainer for J. J. WaNh and William McDaniel will succeed him. Dr. .lames Kerr has based Sidney Lucas from II. T. Oxnard and tbe stallion will head the Anlrim Stud at Warrenton this ysjUT. James A. Grove, proprietor of the Lawrence Stock Farm near San Jose. CaL. was married in that city last Wednesday to Miss Anna Fay. Barney Schreiber reports the arrival of a coif at his Woodlands Farm, by Bannocktmru -Augusta Victoria, which he prizes highly, as the dam is a full sister to Nealon. Matbew Byrnes has purchased the seven-year old hay marc Palette, by Ben Brush— Bonnie Lee. by Glengarry, from Frank Lightfoot for 75 and will retire the mare to the stud. H. G. Bedwell has nide William Walker on offer fur bis two-vear contract on the services of jockey Lycttrgus which the latter has under consideration, but it is not likely that he will accept it.
