AMERICAN JOCKEYS PROSPER IN EUROPE San Francisco Cal August 19 Jockey Eddie Jones who began his career on the California tracks returned from Belgium Tuesday last and was a recent visitor at the Oakland track Two years ago Jones was thrown from a horse on a Belgium track and later paralysis of the right leg developed lie has been unable to ride since and physicians advised him to return home In the hope that the climate here and being with his family might help him Jones plans to secure some horses and train them Should he recover he may return to Belgium where lie has an opportunity to ride Three days before he received the fall he was offered SGOOO to ride for a stable on the Belgium tracks tracksJones Jones reports that Winnie OConnor Johnny Reiff and Ilcnrv Spencer are doing well in Germany At Ostend Nash Turner won a 10000 match race with a horse he trains Milton Henry rode for him making the event have quite an American llavor Skoets Martin and Danny Mnher were also at Ihe Ostend meeting in July Patsy Freeman is train ¬ ing a stable in France and Johnny Campbell Is also handling a string there with considerable success Frank Duffy is riding both on the flat and over the jumps in France
