SEEK COOPERATION OF OWNERS Npw York March 5 A committee of the stew ¬ ards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Asso ¬ ciation has been appointed to investigate the best means to improve and promote the interest In steeplechasiug oh the metropolitan circuit for the year lit 10 10To To this end after conference with the president August Delmont the Westchester Racing Association has promised to give five steeplechases a week and increase the added money from 1000 to 1500 in stakes and materially increase the value of over ¬ night purses for the spring meeting May 13 to 30 upon the written assurances from the owners of the steeplechase stables that they will show their appreciation by making liberal entries and racing their horses The members of this committee are Henry J Morris II S Page and Joseph E Widener They have written a letter to the owners of steeple ¬ chase horses in this country and In Canada urging their cooperation with the Westchester Associa ¬ tion in its effort to imnrove crosscountry racing The substance of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association committees appeal to horsemen to sup ¬ port the Relmont Park proposition is as follows followsWill Will you give us your assurance to support our efforts to reestablish steeplcchasing on the metro ¬ politan circuit by sending your liorses and doing your best to till the races we propose to put on Ploase let us know the number of horses you have in training On the success of steeplechasing at Relmont Park deneiids the action of the other asso ¬ ciations and we earnestly request your warm sup ¬ port1
