WELLKNOWN ENGLISH TRAINER DIES William Johnston died at Whitsbury Sunday even Ing March 30 He had been in indifferent health for some time and of late had only a few hows under his charge Years ago however Johnston saddled a number of winners one of bis best being Sweet Melody which secured the West of Scotland Foal Stakes in 190 starting at 10 to 1 Johnston won numerous events at the Pilmry Club Meetings and among the bestknown horses which came from his stable were Kcndale Saxon Prince Master Cul loden Chasuble Bonny Springfield Chez Moi Canld Blast Silent Friend Slumberer Longford Lad Titl lochgorum Dundreary and Dusky Scout He also bred a few horses Including The Spider
