TASMANIAN REVENUE FROM MUTUELS. Some Interesting figures are available concerning the workings of the totalisator in Tasmania during the past year. A total of ,2S2,000 passed through the machines in the whole of the state, that amount representing an increase of 99,170 on the previ ous twelve months. The government received from its one per cent, commission 3,820. This is. included in the ten per cent, deducted by the clubs, but in addition to this the "broken, money." 9,475 represented another one and one-half per cent. The "broken money" showed a decline last year compared witli those immediately preceding it, dropping from about one and three-quarters per citit. to ono and a half per cent. It goes to the-club.
