LEOCHARES EASY WINNER WITHDRAWAL OF BRINGHURST LEAVES HIM WITH LITTLE OPPOSITION. Latonia Racing Continues to Be Favored with Pleasant Weather and Literal Patronage List of Horses for Charleston. Cincinnati, O., November 3. The withdrawal of Briugburst from todays six-furlong handicap at Latonia detracted considerably from that feature, as it left Lcochares an outstanding favorite, bis success over Gipsy Love and Benanet, the remaining starters, being generally conceded before the limning. It is doubtful if Briugburst would have lepeated his recent victory over Leocbares, for the latter ran to. bis best form and placed to his credit the fastest aix furlongs of the meeting, lie displayed keen speed from the outset and was well in hand throughout. Gipsy Love made a game, but ineffectual effort in the stretch, but was no match for the Schorr representative, Benanet was at all times a distant trailer. Considering the general esteem in which Leocbares was held before the race, the. 1 to - that bis backers obtained was regarded as an extremely liberal price. Balmy weather was instrumental in attracting to . the course one of the best mid-week crowds of tbe meeting. The sport was again wholesome and greatly enjoyed. The activity that has been so manifest in the betting ring throughout the present meeting again prevailed, and as most of the winners came from the ranks of the best backed horses, the regulars particularly had a profitable experience. T. C. McDowells smart looking Waterblossoin showed a return of her good spring form and accounted in handy fashion for the third race, which brought together some fast juveniles at live and a half furlongs. She showed extreme speed from the start and led the others to win as her rider pleased. Tokay was regarded with most favor for the race and might have been closer to the winner but for suffering extensively when Filigree tried ti bear out on the stretch turn. The closing dash produced one of the best contests of the afternqon when Guide Post got up-in the last stride to beat George Stoll. with Bonanza leading tirtTcIosely grouped next half dozen. Guide f Post was the favorite nud her game llnisb Was L loiidljappUiudcd. Crowding was responsible for Syrians fall in the opening race. Jockey . Connelly escaped with a snaking up. Dundreary and Coy, comprising the two-horse combination, yielded 0.80 for . Waterblossom, Indolence and Guide -Post, in the three-horse, paid 31.20.
