KENTUCKY RACING PEOPLE Looking Forward to State Board of Health Meeting Wednesday Ban Against Public Gatherings GatheringsMay May Be Lifted Permitting PermittingResumption Resumption of Sport Oinrinnit O October 28 Racing folk who have iKMii patiently awaiting developments which might permit the opening of the Latonia Jockey Clubs fall mwling ire looking forward with keen interest to a meeting of the Kentucky State Board of Health which lias bfen called for Wednesday afternoon Jit Louisville to check up on the influenza situation throughout the state of Kentucky with the idea of modifying or abandoning the restric ¬ tions which have ben in force against public gath ¬ erings and which have prevented the carrying out of the Latonia Jockey Clubs ambitious racing plans up to tiiis time timeIt It is probable that this conference of the health ulhoriiies of the state will clarify the racing situ ¬ ation and enable the management of the Latonia I nick to make a definite announcement of what may lx expected by those who have assembled hereabouts to participate in the racing scheduled for Latonia by the Kentucky State Racing Com miKsipnJ1 f fThe The Latonia management is in touch with the Kentucky health authorities and will lose no time in taking advantage of any favorable developments that may come comeThere There was little training work at Latonia today the track being deep in mud as a result of the con ¬ tinued rains rainsFrank Frank 1 Weir who in his long career as a trainer has frequently been in the limelight on account of the sensational achievements of his horses on the race track of which the mighty Rosebcn and the wonderful Old Rosebud are outstanding examples ha arrived at Latonia from the Laurel track in Maryland with eleven horses that he intends to race at Latonia Neither Old Rosebud nor Jack Hare Jr the stars of the stable which the vet ¬ eran trainer is racing for Col W E Applegate tann west with the shipment Both of these stars of the turf have been turned out until next year ho twoyearolds Toto and War Machine are the most notable of the horses making up the Weir string in training trainingVisitors Visitors to Latonia are unanimous in agreeing that the racing enclosure never appeared to better ad ¬ vantage than it does just now The mild weather that has prevailed throughout the fall coupled with the recent rains has resulted in bringing the floral features of the landscaping to a high state of per ¬ fection and it is a pretty picture indeed that the grounds adjoining the clubhouse and the flower beds in the infield present just now The infield itself is as green us in the early springtime the rains of the past fortnight having worked a magical trans ¬ formation from tlie brown effect left by the scorch ¬ ing suns of summer The hills Iietweeu which the track snuggles itself so picturesquely are likewise xwptioiiaHy beautiful right now garbed as they are in their fresh verdure brought out by the re ¬ cent rains
