RACING STATISTICS OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MEETING EVER HELD AT EMPIRE CITY What was probably the most successful meeting ever held at Empire City came to an end Saturday after twelve days of highclass racing during which time seventytwo races were decided and 64290 was distributed iu stakes and purses The daily average distribution amounted to 5357 A pleasing feature of the meeting was the visit of Governor Whitman to the Yonkers course on Saturday October 19 the first time in many years a governor of the Empire State had visited a metropolitan race course Tlie occasion was all the more notable because it was tlie day that Racings Liberty Loan drive went over the top to tlie tune of 5375350 Much of the credit for tlie success of the meeting is due to Gen ¬ eral Manager C J Fitz Gerald who was also one of the stewards A K Macomber was the chief money winning owner his stable accounting for 7240 John San ford J E Widener R L Bresler and H P Whitney were among others that fared well Tin
