The October sales at Weatherbys Park paddock saw a fall in prices, though good stock brought as much or moru than it was worth. The best of the Duke of Portlands failed to reach reserve figures and were not disposed of. Of them the two-year-old Maxwell is probably vorth a lot of money, for he has many valuable engagements next year. He was run up to 0,000, but at that figure had not reached his reserve. Silonyx, a good three-year-old, was put in at 0,000, and was passed through at 0,000 unsold. The two-year-old Valkyrian, a good looking youngster, must be highly thought of, for an offer of 3,500 was not sufficient to buy him. It was the same with the shapely Saddlemark, which was retained at 7,500, and Sun Blink, at 5,000.
