The latter finished courageously when hard urged near the end. HORATIO HUGH was shuffled back on the turn and finished resolutely. PEEDEEQUE was hard ridden, saved ground and finished well. HIGH AND MIGHTY quit after three-eighths. EVA S. showed early soeed. The latter, taken to the outside when acting fractiously, improved her position steadily and fought it out stubbornly. SISTER MADGE, away poorly, circled the others and closed a big gap. TUT TUT, also away poorly, finished with a rush. RUTH TIDINGS took an easy lead, but quit badly. GAIT was away very slowly. STEELTON showed early speed.
