UPSETS LASSIE, inclined to bear in and steadied along for half a mile, failed to rally when hard urged,; but held on well and overtook the tiring GUIDESS within a few strides of the end. The latter opened up a good lead quickly, maintained her advantage to the final eighth, then tired badly. VERDA saved ground throughout and raced evenly.
