GALLANT SIR AT CRETE HOMEWOOD, 111., May 26. In addition to the American Derby eligible Northgalis, the older division of Norman W. Churchs Northway Stable, which E. L. Fitzgerald unloaded at Lincoln Fields yesterday, includes Gallant Sir, winner of the Agua Cali-ente Handicap, Latonia Championship Stakes and other important races; the veteran Plucky Play, which refuses to be retired; Sundot and Whizz James. Four comprise the younger or juvenile division, and they are Ima Count, Pomparagon, Riskulas and Fair Side. Trainer Fitzgerald stated that little time would be lost before the horses swing into action here and that Northgalis has about an even, or fifty-fifty chance, to fill his engagement in the American Derby. A minor injury sustained while in his stall at Mira Monte Stock Farm the night before he was loaded for the cross-continent trip, is clearing up nicely, according to Fitzgerald. George Woolf, the North- way Stable rider, is reporting to Fitzgerald Sunday.
