TRA Holds Stall Acceptance Binds Horsemen to Distribution DistributionNEW NEW YORK N Y May 9 The Thor ¬ oughbred Racing Associations an organiza ¬ tion composed of 37 of the major racetracks in the United States supported the stand of Sportsmans Park in its current dispute with the Horsemens Benevolent and Pro ¬ tective Association in a statement issued here today The TRA holds that accept ¬ ance of stalls binds horsemen to accpetance of the announced purse distribution distributionFollowing Following is the statement The directors of the TRA deplore the situation in the Chicago area whereby rep ¬ resentatives of the HBPA have caused the cessation of racing because of last minute demands contrary to previous understand ¬ ings ingsIt It is the position of the directors of TRA that when a racing association has announced its purse distribution and when stalls have been allocated accordingly the action of the horsemen in accepting and occupying stafts is a contract and the horsemen are expected to comply with such contract in good faith The action of the horsemen under such circumstances in Causing a cessation of racing is a breach of contract and contrary to Section 8 of the Code of Standards StandardsSportsmans Sportsmans Park is not a member of the TRA
