No Placed Horses in 55 Trial In the Money in Big Race RaceCHURCHILL CHURCHILL DOWNS Louisville Ky May 4 Last years 81st running of the Kentucky Derby marked the fourth time that no placed horse in the Derby Trial annually run the Tuesday before the clas ¬ sic had finished in the money in the big race In fact none of the first four horses in the Derby Swaps Nashua Summer Tan and Racing Fool competed in the Trial Jeans Joe who ran fifth in the Derby had run second in the Trial while the winner of the Trial Flying Fury was sixth in the Derby DerbyCitation Citation jvas the first horse to win both the Derby Trial and the big race itself the Calumet colt taking both races in 1948 Hill Gail repeated for Calumet in 1952 while Harry F Guggenheims Dark Star accomplished the feat the year later
