Pittsburgh Phils Phil Ahom Ahem Arthur Whites Ornamental August Belmonts Belmont Filon Dillon dOr doer and Sundream Undreamt J A Bennetts Bennett Dr Parker and San ford A J Joyners Jones Autumn Alfred Hennen Henna and Dave Morris Duke of Middleburg Middlebrow Presti Presto digitafcrice Caoutchouc Coauthor and Guillemat Guillemot Father Bill Dalys Days Rusher Amos Turneys Tourneys Captain Sigsbee Sighs and James Rowes Owes Tendresse Tennessee More than a dozen other colts and fillies that have run and won hereabouts are on the list but not one of them has done enough to warrant their handlers in going to the trouble and expense of getting him or her ready for tha than race There are others that have not started on account of indisposition or accident but they have beer doing well in their work and still others that have raced in the west westTwo west Two promising youngsters in Jimmie Jimmied Rowes Owes string belong to the former variety They are A B Barnes filly Lady in Blue by Himyar Shimmy out of the mare British Blue Blood and a band some chestnut colt called Lumen by Kinglike which Mr Rowe himself owns Sickness has kept them both in their stables so far but they have been doing so well lately that MrRowoand Narrowband all his friends believe that theirFuturity chances are excellent Lady in Blue has been particu paretic ¬ larly glary admired Another highly tried filly on the Futurity eligible list is John Sanfords Sanford Mai Magi by Meddler Mai Magi has been handled by W P Burch and like Lady in Blue was ailing earlier in the year when Whiplash Prestidigitatrice Prestidigitator Onon Onion dagas dagga Pride Ornamental High Degree Caout Caput ¬ chouc choc and the other smart misses were out earning their keep She is rapidly rounding to however and Mr Burch believes that he has in her a very promising twoyearold toehold Another fast youngster that has not made his appear ¬ ance Vance as yet because of sickness is the Rayon dOr doer Sallie McClelland Macmillan colt His Lordship His Lordship is a strapping big youngster with a splendid turn of speed He is owned by Byron McClellands Macmillan widow and J D Smith who is handling the McClelland Macmillan horses in the east His Lordship has shown at much speed as any youngster that has raced hereabouts this year in his private trials and Mr Smith believes that in him he has the Futurity winner Jean Beraud Bead is not eligible for the Futurity His dam Carrie C was not believed to be in foal when the nominations were made and Jean Beraud Bead the greatest colt of 1898 like Hamburg the greatest colt of 1897 was not named for the richest prize of the American turf Perhaps it is just as well that Jean Beraud Bead is not to go If he were in the Futurity the outcome of the race would not be so charmingly uncertain Michael F Dwyers Dyers swiftfooted swift Kingston colt Kingdon Kingdom is not eligible either nor is James Galways Always Ethelbert Ethel The master of Preakuess Remakes will not however be without representa represent ¬ tives ties Two promising Jersey bred youngsters in his string are being licked into shape for it by Lew Blew Elmore Elmo at Saratoga They are Eller Keller dalo dale and Bangor and both have shown sufficiently well in their work to greatly en ¬ courage b6th Mr Galway and Mr Elmore Elmo Tho Theo greatest of the western Aspirants on public form is William Hendries Henries Martimas Martians a strap ¬ ping chestnut colt by Candlemas Candelas out of the famous mare Biggonet Bygone Martimas Martians is at Sara ¬ toga and he has done so well that many of tho thou FUTURITY CANDIDATES Continued from 1st Page horsemen at the spa have predicted victory for him Martimasis Martians not a green colt He started twice at Ft Erie and won both times His owner is a wealthy Canadian and will come down on Futurity day to bet a lot of money on the Candlemas Candelas colt J E Seagram has a string of youngsters at the spa also undergoing prep ¬ aration aeration for the Futurity Several of them have done pretty well too tooIf too If a future book on the Futurity was opened today Autumn Captain Sigsbee Sighs Glenheim Gene Ahom Ahem Sir Hubert Dr Parker and Dr Eich Erich berir beerier would get more support from the Long Island owners and trainers than any of the other joungsters youngsters A great deal has been said about Ahom Ahem lately The goodlooking boohooing half brother of Ben Brush ehowed showed on two occasions this season that he could race in company He hasnt hasn't been out recently but he has boon worked steadily and is in excellent condition Glenheim Gene is another vastly improved colt He is a bit overgrown still but is in much bettor shape than he ever was before and John Mad ¬ den expects to have him give a good account of himself on Futurity day Hapsburg who will probably be Glenheims Genesis running mate in the Futurity is a half brother to Hamburg Ho is out of Hamburgs Hamburg dam Lady Reel by the stallion Candlemas Candelas who has got some good race horses during the last few years Haps ¬ burg raced at Morris Park early in the spring but did not show any of Hamburgs Hamburg speed He was not in the best of condition then however and Mr Madden believes that his long rest has improved him
