GOSSIP OF THE TURF. Charles T. Hayman, of Cincinnati, has a considerable string of young horses which will be trained and campaigned this year by John S. Campbell. Wallada, br. g, 3, by Eolian Misadie. Bertha C. br. f, 2, by Hawksley Volta. Louise Hayman, blk. f , 2, by Hawksley Sunbeam. Dr. Effie, blk. f, 2, by Hawksley Sunflower. Dr. Fannie, b. f, 2, by Donatello Louie. Mrs. Captain alurphy, b. f, 2, by St. Savior Mollie Pitcher. Charles T. Hayman, ch. c, 2, by Eberlee Miss Bloodgood. Campbell also will train these horses: Twinklor, b. c, 4. by Brutus Nabette. Fonsavannah, b. c, 4, by Fonso Savannah. Kittie Daly, b f, 3, by St. Florian Frailty. Miss McLaud, ch. f, 2, by Dr. Hasbrouck Brenda. Never during any winter racing season around San Francisco was the betting heavier than during last week. Plunger Harry Hill is credited with winning 2,500 last Friday, while Ed Purser, Abe Stein, the Quinn boys, Johnny Coleman and several others put their coin on in thousands.
