Elmer S. was tiring and Bwerved and bumped Nellie Prince. He also interfered with Ned Wickes at the head of the stretch. Falcon Light made up a lot of ground in the last three furlongs. Phidias ran a bad race. Jockey E. James was suspended indefinitely for a finding that he deliberately fouled Ned Wickes and Nellie Prince. Official would have won in another stride or two. "Water Crest was under a pull for five and a half furlongs, but quit in the stretch. Simon D. was closing strong. He lost a lot of ground on the stretch turn. Joe Shelby was never in the running. Locust Blossom also ran a dull race.
