They fought it out for five furlongs and were staggering; the next three were closing fast at the finish. Alamo was under restraint early and closed fast Dunn was no help to Midglen. He is good. Tole Simmons had but little speed and no stamina. John Sullivan ran to his horses fast around the turn, but was shut off and eased up at finish. Hairpin had some early speed, but was short.
