DEATH OF TREJIONT. A dispatch from Nashville conveys the information that the stallion Tremont broke his stifle Thursday night while in his paddock at Belle Meade, and in consequence was destroyed. Tremont was a black, by Virgil Ann Fief, by Lexington. He only raced as a two-year-old. Then he was an invincible racehorse. That was in 1886. He started in thirteen races and won them all. Over the various tracks around New York he won the Sequence Stakes and Juvenile Stakes at Jerome Park, Foam Stakes, Surf Stakes, Zephyr Stakes, Paddock Stakes, Spring Stakes, Juno Stakes, Great Post Stakes and Good Bye Stakes at Coney Island, and the Atlantic Stakes, Tyro Stakes and Junior Champion Stakes at Monmouth Park. He was a wonder on any kind of track and made such a horse as Kingston look common. Ringbone , stopped his career and ho was sold to David Swigertfor 5,000. When Swigerts breeding establishment was sold out General W. H.Jackson bought Tremont for 7,500. At the stud he ! was not the success he was as a racehorse,
