j XOCAI, RACING. With the conclusion of to-days racing at Hawthorne the record of the track for the year of grace, 1899, will be made up. It ia a story of fine racing, good management, extreme vigilance in the judges stand and deserved pecuniary success. For all this Judge Rees, Secretary Kuhl and Manager McAvoy come in for well earned praise for efficient service in their respective departments. The last meeting of the year at Harlem begins Monday with every prospect of two weeks racing up to the high standard that has characterized the track this year. It will be followed by fifteen days at Lakeside and then local patrons of rscirg will have to go into winter camp while awaiting with such patience as may be at their command, the roturn of the bangtails Eoxt May. Secretary Nathansou has issued his program book for the firBt eix days at Harlem. The con-di iocs of the purses show thoughtful consideration for all classes of owners end horses and will insure a wide distribution of the money offered. A 00 purse is provided for Monday, Thursday and Saturday ; tiie others are of the customary 00 size. The long distance rac3 of the week will bo a mile and a half dash, slated for Tuesday. Seventeen of the thirty-six purses call for contests at a mile or over and eleven are the exclusive property of tho two-year-olds. In concoction with the meeting to tako place at Likoside, Secretary Natbanson gives owners notice to the following effect: "The fall meeting of 15 days will begin Monday, October 30. Purses will be 00 and 00. Six races will be run each day, beginning at 2 oclock. Applications for stall may be filed on and after Taesday, October 17, with the secrotary at Harlem. "Persons who ship or send horse3 to the track without having previously obtained signed orders will bo doDied all privileges. "No request races for this moating will be considered."
