CALIFORNIA TURF GOSSIP. Eddie Jones is one of the fastest boys in the country to get away from the post, and there was considerable gossip among the jockeys as to how he would acquit himself when he hooked up with Tommy Burns. One little pilot bet seventy-five cents to fifty cents that Jones would baat Burns away from the post the first time they met in California, and he cashed. Jones on Bicardo beat Burns on Judge Wofford in the race on Tuesday, and there was a happy little jockey. San Francisco Examiner. The Oakland judges have warned the stable of J. 3. Gibson away from the track. George Howson, the trainer for the stable, has been denied the privileges of the trajk, and jockey Coburn has baeu ruled off. The horEes involved are Snips, February and Alaska. The great improvement shown by Alaska caused the judges to act. William Murry has an addition of three to his Btring. They are coming two-year-olds. One is by Dr. Nave, a son of Prince Charley, and two are by St. Carlo. The stables of W. P. Magrane and Pat Corri-gan reached Oakland Thursday night from Chicago. The latter has the good filly Silver Fizz. Prince Poniatowski is to sell the fifteen yearlings now at bis Burlingame stock farm at public auction in the near future. It is expected that there will be fully 400 entries for the California Futurity from California alone. James Woods, father of Jockey Woods, has purchased Marplot from Burns and Waterhouse. Golden Rule will be reserved for the three-year-old races next spring.
