Off at the first break to a good start. Won hand ridden, but staggering and out to the last s ounce. It was a terrific drive for second place. Mitchell rode a good race on Mies Fee. He nursed the filly along cleverly and never made a move until straightened away for home, then he r shot to tho front like a flash. Niverna hung on gamely through the stietch. She was favored c by good racing luck throughout. Trralene ran the bast race of the lot. She was last to leave the post and was worn out in the first half in tryiDg to make up lost ground. Naturally after I this the filly quit badly at the end. 8yra ran a fair race and Jim Turner a good one. Tho latter was running groat guns at the finish. Farrie was badly interfered with and whatever chance she had of winning was ruined shortly after the start. Do not count this race for her. Miss 1 Vallora moved up rapidly on the inside on the far turn, but at the head of the stretch she got into a jam-and her rider bad to pull her up. Overweights Syra, 2 pounds. Winner Ch. f, by Fonso Eva S. . 1 Off at the first break to a fair start. Won cleverly; second and third were under pressure. , Fantasy ran a good race and was well handled. Newcom had her on the outside in the best j going all the way and never made a wrong move. Del Paso II. ran right to hiB notch. His price was out of line. Uarda is a deceiver. She flattered her backers for about three-quarters and then weakened. Prospero and Tip Gallant both ran cracking good races. They wore unfortunate at the start and after getting the worst of the break made up a lot of ground. Jim Mc-Cleevy ran a fair race, but it was hardly good enough for him. He had bad racing luck, however, and the track was not to hiB liking. Elidad was slow to begin, but finished strongly. Henry of TraBtamare showed no tpeed at all. Winner Br. f, by Blazes Planetta. PoBt 5 minutes, btart good. Won easily at the tnd after a hard, early drive. There was little or no action behind the winner. Ennomia won a sensational race. She looked hopelessly beacen and was many lengths behind the last horse when passing the stand and on the first tnrn. Down the backstretch the filly gained on her field but hardly enongb to be noticeabls. Shortly after passing the half-mile giouna Encomia started to move up andshowinga phenomenal burst of speed was second when the stretch was reached. Sho then clearly outgenied Catastrophe and won going away. Yititoe. on Catastrophe, perhaps made hiB run too soon. Moroni was overweighted. fl9 does not Eetm to be at his best. Facade wants a deep, muddy or sloppy track to Bhow at his bsBt. Lillian Reed and Fair Deceiver both showed Bpeed bnt retired eany. Ennomia, place, 3 to 1; show, evens. Won easing up; second, third and fourth under j keen 1 pressure. Red Cross II. was much the best and in a eoft spot. He raced imma M. into submission I in the first three-sixteenthi, and after that had everything his own way. From the head of the stretch home Mitchell wae easing the colt up. Microscope made up a ttemendous tmount of gronnd from the half mile post home. In fact, at the point mentioned the colt seemed hopeleetly out of it. Kittie G. also made up a lot of gtound from a slow beginning and after being badly r interfered with. Pm.ce Blazes, who is s never beaten until the wiie is reached, came with one of his sensational rushes and won in the e last suide. The Prince is one of the gameat horses at the track. He is fresh and good now v and deserves attention in any company over a distance of ground. Mitchell was a trifle overconfident - on Volhtidies. He seemed to have the race at his mercy at the head of the stretch and d let Piince Blazes on the inside steal a march on him. Duke of Baden quit badly in the stretch. 1. ; jt t I o 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 s r c I 1 Boney Boy was possibly short. This race will be of benefit to him. Harry Natter coal 1 not oat-run a fat man and ovor his poor showing the judges took sharp action. Canace ran as though stale and also got a weak ride. This filiy is a stayer and in all of her best races has come fiom behind gamely. In this race she weaved first from o ae side then to the other and Winkfield did not seem to have any control over her. Brulare showed fine speed and ran a good iace. Diggs was a very tired horse at the finish. McAlbert had no excuses. Banish ran a bad race. 80 did both Easter Card and Newsgatherer. Scratched 15491 Little Jack Horner, 104.
