Won ridden out : second driving. Danforth was well in motion when the flag fell, and having been backed recovered his speed suddenly and held the lead throughout, but had to be hustled at the end. It was close for second place with The Benedict tiring, and Magnificent finishing strongly and gaining. Lambent ran ;-. tine race, and will do to watch. McCue eased her up in last furlong. He was outrun in the first part of the race and Spencer made up ground gradually. He was lucky in getting through in the stretch but was all out to beat Sarmatian. who ran a good race and finished strongly. Ten Candles would have been closer up with a good rifle. The race will do Colonel Roosevelt good. He ran well to the stretch where lack of condition told on him. Contestor showed his usual turn of speed but tired in the stretch run. Herbert found the weight too much. He was leading in the stretch but tired. Windmere showed a dash of early speed but ran a bad race and has been overrated.
