Petra II. was lucky and had to be hard driven in the last furlong Snark was best and closed strongly in the stretch, but Maher outrode Dangman. Princess Otillie, off poorly, was lucky to get in on the rail at the stretch turn and ran a good race. The Regent closed ground in the last quarter. Cogswell has speed but was poorly handled. Goddess of Night and Guess Work were carried wide at the btretch turn. Educate was poorly handled. Maximus, outrun at the start, conld never get through. He broke flat-footed and pulled up and was taken around his field in the first furlong, closed gamely and barely got up the last few strides. Outlander seemed to be the winner at the sixteenth post and had no excuses. Termless showed a lot of speed and had clear sailing, but could not la.-t. The others are ordinary.
