Shaw, on Mayor Gilroy, saved four length swhen turning into the stretch by hugging the rail. Odom rode Rush poorly. She also suffered by crowding in the last sixteenth. Burns allowed the others to race themselves to weariness in going to the stretch, where he made his run. Villa V. did not have anything left. The distance was too great for Fleuron. Alard Scheck was skilfully placed by Burns and went to front when called on, but Burns was riding hard at the end. Far Rockaway ran a good race and closed with a rush in the last sixteenth. Beau Ormonde is fast and will bear watching. He is a highly bred colt and was raced rushed too much in the early stages. As also was Margraviate. Montanic was under a pull for six furlongs and then tired, but hung on well and should win shortly. MacLeod of Dare ran his race. Laverocks race will do her good. Amarita ran her race at the post, cut up badly, and was far out at every break and unseated Buchanan twice. Juniper is not quite up to a race but ran well. Miss Daniels, like Amarita, cut up badly at the post. Scratched— 19270 Goddess of Night, 99. Overweights— Sweepstakes, 3 pounds. Ondurdis. place, 1 to 4; show, out.
